Edit: I'm 24. Eat healthily, I do smoke about 10 cigs a day. Regular pain in my groin area, pain between shoulder blades and swelling of glands in the right hand side of my neck. Doctor can't seem to put it down to anything. Done loads of tests.

If there is nothing medically wrong with you, then you need to see a psychiatrist.

Cigarettes certainly don't help, but two things to consider:

If you've been in South America or the African continent recently, you might have a parasitic infection. Most western doctors will not figure it out - you might want to go to a teaching hospital that has a center dealing with these types of disease/infection.

You might have a non-specific neuralgia - usually diagnosed as a syndrome because it is not associated with a single disease vector.

You may need some counseling or therapy because the issue is psychological, not physiological.

I am a physician. To answer your question intelligently, I would need to know more about you. When we accept a new patient, we need to know the history, the family history, where you have travelled, your life style, your diet, and previous illnesses. We can not judge without some ideas. Your physical exam is important, but it is only one clue in making an intelligent decision. It could be that your physician missed something....it could be a psychological problem...but no one can answer a vague question as you have posed. Remember that most answers here will not be of much use. So you need to turn to professional advice, not amateur guesses.

Some diseases are hard to diagnose. I had a friend, also early twenties, that had Lyme disease and he went for test after test and they didn't find it either until much later. He thought he was dying too. Now he has recovered and feels fine.

..Many doctors wrongly diagnose depression when they can't find a disease.

It was my thought also that depression lies behind your withery body. Get some help on that! (maybe you'll even cut down on some cigarettes a day)!

Well first off - everyone dies. NO getting around that. Secondly - maybe you are depressed. How are things in your life going, are you happy, employed, in love, cared for? Do you drink our do drugs? Have you been completely honest with your doctor?

I honestly don't know what you're suffering from although you
feel weak and unwell. Tell us what you're suffering. Maybe we
can advise and pray to God for your recovery.
