Dude, recruitement to IPS is done on the basis of same exam that puts you for an IAS or IFS...
The Civil Services exam.. (UPSC)
You have to select the priority in the form..among the three services it chooses candidates for..
You should be A degree holder ( Graduate , etc.) to be eligible.
In the preliminary test there is objective test of General Studies and a subject of your choice..
Then, in the MAINS, you have to give subjective test on two your-choice subjects and General studies
plus an qualifying ( just need 33 %) exam of English and Hindi ...
Hindi can changed to another language (must be a recognised language by constitution)...
if you clear till this ...
An interview and voilla...
you're an IPS...
