Of course YES
Cricket is not the only sports that we Indian plays or like. We should give equal emphasise to each sports and promote it accordingly. for example, Hocky is our national game but it is not promoted well. Moreover the sponsors for these sports are rare, and of course money also matters, which is very less with comparison to cricket that makes these sports less famous amongst young generation. Similarly we should have one good football team which proves to be a challenge in FIFA world cup.
Other sports should have their deserving place in sports chart.

Defiantely. A country the size of India has a lot of potential to compete at international level for various sports. Different sports must be promoted to the youth so they can get interested and develop their skills.

Yeah it is very important.

But have an look at the childrens from middle class they just can make an bat easily from any wood and the ball too doesn't cost too much.

But other games cannot be played at so cheap of cost by them.

So it automatically becomes an favourite game in India.

if countries like ghana and ivory coast can play in the world cup cant we find atleast 25 players frm a population of more than a billion who can play world class soccer if given the right incentives.
its really a big shame for a prestigious country like ours.

And who will promot them?you,me or politicians who enjoy facilities provided by government to players first.Politician even don't want to disclose facilities given to new comers.information passed on to administrating officers.I have seen these old budhdhas trying to make fashion statement in new grounds meant for youngsters.
