Same reason yahoo answers has its own site for Spanish speaking Americans, many of the people who live in the US cannot read or speak English.
I live in the NE states and we have a lot of things printed in French to so the manufactures can market the products in Quebec too.

Are you sure it's Spanish? I live in California, which has a high Latino population and I see more French than Spanish on packaging (because the same things are sold in Canada).
"Taking over" Oh, give me a break. A LOT of the people here of "Mexican" descent have been here longer than the whites.

Spanish is the first and most spoken language in the world, and the second language spoke in US and, by that, the first non-native language.
It's the companies motivation to be most available to that huge market.
There's also the huge market for American goods in Central and south America markets (who most people speak and read............. true:...... Spanish).

Funny, where I live they are almost always written in both English and French....not spanish.
It might have to do with where you live.....ie if you live close to the southern boarder, it would be written in Spanish I guess so you could SELL it to you neighbors.
