Not really. I am superstitiious but I look around myself thinking I posess the evil eye.. And trust I won't see anything to alarm me. It doesn't always work.
What I am most concerned about though, in the dark of a forest, is that I would trample on things such as snails or mice. I know you're concerned about this too but I'm not kidding. When I worked in North Wales and lived in Chester, I sometimes walked 6 miles to work on a dark rainy morning. One path I could trust to always be covered in snails, though oddly they never seemed to go off the sidewalk onto the road. Good thinking too, because I did walk onto the road to avoid them - and cars narrowly avoided me.

I don't mind walking in the woods alone and in the dark. My problem is running out of gas and having to walk on a partly lit street in the middle of the night, in the city. Around here that could get you raped, killed, maimed and murdered.

Silence, beats talking,
when your all alone,
You can hear the wind howling,
Its calling from inside.
The rain, on the rooftops,
Dripping, like cold blood,
Running down the windows,
Your reflection, your only comfort.
A cold blooded killer,
a stalker from the shadows
Is hidden within your mind,
You cannot contain it, any longer.
Your heart starts to race,
blood rushing to your muscles,
the adrenaline pumping through your veins,
your pulse beating in your head.
Walking through the woods,
scared of making a sound,
you think he will come after you
If you even turn around.
being stalked by your own fear,
it overcomes, you fall to the ground,
your about to hit when,
arise from your bed, a dream or only a nightmare
The rain on your windows,
The beat of your heart,
life is just a dream,
That we can never part.

I like walking in the woods but in the dark I'd trip and hurt myself.

No way, I'd be too scared. When I was in college, we went on an outward bounds weekend and they blindfolded us and dumped us in a wood at 10pm on Halloween and we had to find our way out. That was bad enough and there were about 20 of us!!!

No not at all. It is relaxing and you see the world in a different way, with the nocturnal creatures taking charge so to speak. Bats, Badgers, Owls and the like are fascinating creatures and the sounds....

That's when Sasquatch likes to come out. And all the other night critters too.
I guess I could if I had to. But I hope I never have to.
