I had a job like this once. You need to get inventive. Start with an A4 ring binder. Put some innocent looking paperwork in there and then bung your magazine on top .................... anyone comes along, shut the ring binder up and huff a lot ... 'oh god, I',m so busy .... WHEN will I ever get done here .... if only it wasn't for all the INTERRUPTIONS!!!! Hell-oh, that's you ....!!

I am sorry to say this but I find just getting on with your work does make the day go quicker, if you put it off the time just drags. If you are in a really really boring job, why don't you try to get something more interesting. Life is too short to have a crap job!!!! Good luck!

I do Yahoo answers or play a lot of games! I am in the very self same boat. But I am leaving this job soon to work in a shop maybe you should look for a better job which is not as boring.

Time flies when your having fun, so sneak onto a game site when the boss isn't looking, or if you don't dare do that then play a small game on your desk, try sudoku and if you get caught just tell them its for the charity NAS, it is Sudokuthon week after all.

DO not look at the clock.
Ask your colleages if they want some help...i.e photocopying (showing some initiative )
Think of one nice thing that you would like to do, that evening.
Go to the park, to get some fresh air, during lunch.
or otherwise....use the companies computer and go online and do whatever fancies you.

I'm a surveyer, so half the time I'm on the computer/listening to the phone ring. I usually doodle, bring a colouring book, talk to my neighbours.
