In most cases a person who is 400 lbs does eat more than a person who is 100lbs. Many people who are over recommended weight eat a lot, are obsessed with food or just eat way too much junk food, fried food, fast food, etc. There are cases of people being overweight because of medical issues like thyroid problems, slow metabolism or some type of stomach problem. For the most case, if a person is skinny either they don't eat a lot or have a super fast metabolism. And in other cases, if a person is obese then they eat too much and don't burn off calories or they have serious medical issues.

What world do you live in that a 400 pound person would be "slightly" over weight?

Probably. 400 is more than "slightly overweight". Unless you are 7 feet tall!

to maintain that "slightly overweight" physique would take more food than a one hundred pound person would need. and this is regardless of metabolism or excercise simply because it's such a large difference in weights.

I think it depends on their metabloism. Iknow some thin people who can just pack it away and don't gain an ounce and others that just look at food and gain weight.

i have observed thin/fat people eat...and a thin person will have a pastry at work and take ALL DAY to eat it. A fat person will not STOP eating until the pastry is gone in one sitting!! FOOD IS NOT DISAPPEARING OFF THE EARTH!
