If those who rant and rave about poverty were to contribute the money they spend on taking control of the country on creating jobs for those below poverty level wouldn't that solve the issue?

Maybe they realize there is no payback for solving poverty but there is for taking control of our country? Ask these people to donate their money to this issue rather than politics.

Unions, lawyers and lobbyists have given over $567M to democrat politicians. If they had just divided that up amonst those below poverty level it would be more help than buying elections.

People like Soros and Peter Lewis have given over $200M to buy elections, all to dems.

That is almost a BILLION dollars given to dem politicians, all so they can get control of our country. Why not give that money to charity where it would be put to a better use. I thought these people were all about helping others but it seems they are hypocritical, that they want to help themselves, to take control of our country.

Actually there are millions of Americans who donate time and money to fight poverty. Poverty can never be destroyed. It is impossible to make everyone economically even. Why would you want to? Diversity is a motivator. I work 2 jobs and go to school. I do this because I was poor growing up and I don't want that for myself or family if I have one.

Not only that, but our tax dollars are annually wasted by being thrown into the bureaucratic sinkhole. Between state and federal agencies, we spend six times the amount needed to bring everyone in the US above the poverty line. Yet we still have poor people. Guess who is pocketing the money!

I agree. But that is the way of the world. unfortunately people would much rather sit back and "imagine" that their are no poor people that everyone is on welfare and living good. Even if people don't want to give cash to charity or poor people. Things as simple as driving down the price of daycare and the price of DECENT housing and actually making sure it is AFFORDABLE for the min. wage worker would work wonders in eliminating poverty for a lot of people.

Lou Dobbs was on Larry King last night & addressed this
whole problem. It was very interesting.
It doesn't matter how much money is given to the Democrats,
it's common knowledge the Republicans have twice as much
to spend on their campaign.
It's really both parties who aren't taking this situation seriously.
It's a shame.

Both sides take bribes, both sides only care about power, and neither side cares about the poor or any damn body else that can't directly help them. When will you fools realize that Repukes and Demofags are all the same.

so your cure for poverty is a voluntary redistribution of wealth. this also sounds kind of hypocritical for a conservative, don't you think?
