Stephen King is a writer, director, producer and errrrr ummmm actor. He's written more horror novels than can be counted through the 70's and up through today and has more number ones on the NY Times bestseller list than The Beatles had on the billboard charts.
His more popular works include The Shining, Cujo, Pet Semetary, It, Misery and The Stand. Movies based on his books and short stories are as diverse as The Running Man (written under a psuedonym Richard Bachman), The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me.
King wrote the book Cujo about a family dog that caught rabies and went on a killing spree. It was made into a horror film in the 80's. Many critics list Stephen King as the greatest horror writer of all time comparing him with Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft but King has written more than just horror he has written westerns, sci-fi and regular fiction.
King has been writing less as of late turning his attention to tv and movies but with the less than satisfactory results of his series "Kingdom Hospital" he may have to start writing again. He currently writes magazine articles and has been a guest writer on "The X Files" and even wrote an introduction to the comic book "Batman" which he read as a youth.
There's also some other guy with his name who trains dogs.

Stephen King is a great author from Maine and he has written many books about the supernatural among which is Cujo ( a dog ). He writes fascinating stories in a manner that is not complicated to understand and follow. Once you start reading the book, you are hooked and can't put it down. That's how good his stories are. Filled with suspense and imagination. There are also movies done from his books. His wife is also a writer.

Besides Stephen’s book Cujo he has another relation to dogs in that it was a dog which caused him to be stuck by a mini-van and severely injured.
On June 19, about 4:30 PM, he was walking on the right shoulder of Route 5 in Center Lovell, Maine. Driver Bryan Smith, distracted by an unrestrained Rottweiler named Bullet, moving in the back of his 1985 Dodge Caravan, struck King, who landed in a depression about 14 feet (4 meters) from the pavement of Route 5.
His injuries — a collapsed right lung, multiple fractures of the right leg, scalp laceration, and a broken hip
The driver Smith, a disabled construction worker, died in his sleep on September 21, 2000 (King's birthday) at the age of 53. Also, tecvba is right threre is a dog trainer (with, I believe, a notorious reputation) who's name also happens to b Stphen King.

There is the well known author of horror books, Stephen King, with the only link to dogs being his rabid dog in Cujo.
But there is another Stephen King, not a novelist but a dog trainer, according to the web : http://www.arkonline.com/stephen_king.htm

Don't get out much, do you? King is one of the best selling authors of all time. He doesn't really have a reputation with dogs per se, but he has been frightened of a couple in his life. I read that somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't remember where.
