I saw the tour in DC last night. I was really excited since I spent about $150 per ticket for a friend and I. We had great seats and a perfect view. It was pretty good at first, but then the shock of seeing them face to face wore off and I was bored to death. I am a dancer and have been since I was 3 (I'm 30 now), and I appreciate their talent, but it just dragged on and on for me. Everything was overpriced and it ran WAY too long. If they had ended it at the intermission I might have felt differently, but by the end I couldn't wait to get out of there and go home to bed!

I did enjoy the beginning. I know they are talented and they all did well, but I just think it really went way too long and just dragged on and on. It reminded me of a bad broadway play where you just can't wait to get out of there. I really think that if they had ended it at intermission, I would have left happy. I found myself spacing out toward the end and not even clapping. They did the routines I liked and some of the new ones were cool, but all together I just think they tried to re-invent the wheel 20 times in the show. I can only watch Travis turn and turn a couple of times before it gets boring, same with Benji and his slides across the floor. If everyone had their solo, they did a few group #s, new and old, that would have been great. Just didin't like watching the same moves over and over again. The talking wasn't even amusing and most weren't really comfortable on the mike. I was even embarassed for some of them.

Okay, well my tickets were only $50 (and I even went for free because my brother paid for me). Anyways, I am also a dancer and I feel like we (as dancers) aren't as easily impressed as the general public. I totally feel the same way as you. With everyone doing a solo, all the duets, and the group dances, everything just started looking the same. I felt like I was at a dance competition. Don't get me wrong... I love the show and I plan on auditioning next year, but the tour could have been WAY better than it was. I have taken classes from most of the judges and choreographers and I would have MUCH rather seen them dance!
