I skived Film Studies all the way through college, for much the same reasons and still managed to get a 1st! Yay for me!!

Have no qualms about skiving film studies. Do it. My guess is you signed up to do film studies because you love movies, have a fairly vast knowledge of them and thought that being a film critic would be a cool and easy job. If this is the case- don't worry, you've basically already passed your exams. Other people on your course'll be trying to dissect films and come up with 'underlying themes' and 'what the director was trying to convey'. This is easy and bears no thought. Skive it.
