Depends on your definition of "link". Direct connection? No, no real connection.
If you mean by "link" that Iraq has been for some time a nation that espoused a hatred of the U.S., stirred up activism against the U.S. and provided a safe haven for terrorists and terrorist training facilities, repeatedly thumbed their noses at the U.S. and United Nation resolutions decided upon after the first Gulf War (which put them, effectively in a cease-fire condition [the terms of which they violated, giving the U.S. grounds for re-invasion]) including firing at U.S. planes flying overhead which created a general sense in the terrorist organizations that the U.S. was weak and could be stepped all over without fear of retaliation -- then, yes, I think there was a link.

In returning to this question, I find it amusing that someone would decide to give me a thumbs-down on my response. Is it because you have information that contradicts my answer or is it because I don't have the same hatred of the Bush administration that you have? I gave out a few thumbs downs on this question but it was because the answers were blind accusations or name-calling. Any well-thought out answer, regardless of its political leaning, I feel is worthy of either a thumbs up or no rating at all. And to think, these people call themselves non-judgmental and accepting of all discussion and they call conservatives "sheep". It just strikes me as funny.

By some people, I assume you mean Republicans/Conservatives.

Well, they believe it because it is the only way they can justify going into Iraq. People who think before they react, always knew Saddam never had anything to do with 9/11.

As a matter of fact, Saddam hated Bin Laden and found him to be a threat to his regime.

The Republicans will never admit that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 because they know if they did, they would have no good reason for causing the deaths of almost 3,000 of our Proud Military!

For those of you who answered with words like, Saddam was a murderer etc... that was not our problem. It was the Iraqi's problem. If they wanted him gone, they should have done it themselves!

The USA needs to stop minding every body's business and tend to their own problems.

However, I do believe it was the right decision to go into Afghanistan because it was from that Country that the plans to attack The USA, were made.

Saddam was a dictator who could have given weapons of mass destruction to groups like Al Qaeda to use against America. The weapons I believe were smuggled out of Iraq and into Syria because only minor traces of have been found. I think the Syrians helped him as well as the Russians to transport the weapons through the Damascus Highway.

9/11 has a connection to Bin Laden. Not to Saddam, Saddam just killed a few thousand people. That's why were are glad Saddam is caught, because they could also kill us, if they wanted to. Bin Laden's Followers were the ones to create the attack.

Because the political leaders of the US cannot site Iraq without saying something about 9/11. You say a lie often enough people will start thinking it's the truth and maybe they just missed something.

Hussein postured that he was this great leader in the middle east and had all this power, little did we know that he was just posturing. Most folks believed and still do that he was in a position of influence in matters of terrorism, as it turns out he was only a megalomaniac.

I noticed that no one who still believes that answered your question. Maybe they're in a state of denial and can't bring themselves to admit it. At the same time they can't challenge the truth because it's so obvious.
