I don't know if it is as easy as saying its a hoax. I have done research online and have found nothing claiming this is a hoax. If it isn't hoax, I don't think officials will admit to it due to the civil disorder that would follow. If someone has found a site the claims the event false, please post it so i can read it.

I heard that in 20 years an asteroid will come straight for earth. It will be the size of texas; big enough to cause international destruction.

You need to be more selective as to which web sites you believe. If you believe this story, then you should contact the Nigerian finance minister so you can accept his offer of a multi-million dollar commission for helping him transfer a large sum of money if you will only give him your bank account number.
