I think it is possible. Many of you say being immortal would suck because all of your family would die before you. So what! There are people who lose their entire family because of disease war or disaster, they usually still live full lives, they dont go leaping off of buildings. You say you dont want to be all old and decrepid. Who says living forever would mean you would be some wrinkled old geezer for eternity? Open your minds people. If your family died, start a new one. Your friends die, make new ones. There are old people living right now who have lost their kids, spouses, friends, and pets, yet they aint in a rush to meet the grim reaper. Stop acceepting death as necessary.

Good point Zack. Being imprisoned forever would really, really, suck. But then again, we are kind of imprisoned now. Think about it this way. For a being more advanced than us, a being with the ability to travel to all corners of the universe, I bet it would be just as horrible for him to be imprisoned on Earth for eternity. Meanwhile, we, men of little faith in men, have acceptied our prison of Earth as a requirement of being human, I say the universe is our oyster. I am a prisoner of Earth!

Everyone I've ever seen who got severely old got old and decrepit. It comes with the job. After awhile, when so many of your body's systems have broken down, you'll be on seven different kinds of life support. You call that living? Feh - if that's the case, I'll pull the plug myself.

i know the afterlife is going to be way better than life on this crummy earth. the state of the earth is steadily going downhill, so i'm excited to see what the afterlife has in store for us. doesn't mean i'm suicidal or want to die - i'll die when the time is right, whenever it's decided that i'm going to die. i'm just prepared for something better in the afterlife.

I would like to live forever...but then again if we got that wish...we'd be bored out of our minds after the first couple million years. lol. Then we'd wish to die, but can't cuz we already wished to live forever. get my point? I guess we all have different opinions.

We are going to be here forever...and I chose to be with God. Everything is possible for God, only He cannot contradict Himself. With our free will we cannot blame God if we end up separated from Him...and that is the same here as after we die.

A constant re-invention of your life is not all its cracked up to be. There is a TV show called Imortal and it covers this topic nicely.
