You shouldn't go behind your dad's back. Try discussing this with him and tell him your issues with not being allowed to do this, you might be surprised. Halloween is not begging it's now a part of childhood and a celebration of originally a pagan festival.

Good Luck!!!

ithat's what trick or treating is all about, turing you into a lying begging, little brat. these days it's all over rated. people only do it cause it is becoming more like living in the real world. you have more people becoming witches, more people turning themselves into vampires, more people killing each other for no cause like in Columbine High School. people put on these mask and hide their humanism to become the monsters that the world is producing. halloween is their time to shine. it use to be an innocent holiday but it is fast becoming what it use to be in the old country where the druids use to practice black magic and devil worship. it's coming back and you want to participate so badly, that you would lie to your dad, and go through all of that trouble, and for what, a few hours of fun. so what mask are you wearing?

You need to sit down and talk with him in a mature manner. Let him know that it isn't begging and remind him that when he was a kid he probably did it. Its people choice whether or not they give out treats to kids or to even open their doors. Its all in good fun and its just candy not money or anything. *wink* I'm sure if you explain that you would like to go with your friends and just have a good time he'll understand. Plus remind him of what a good job he did raising you and that you would never see it as a way to take advantage of people. If he sees who mature you can be and what a great job he did it was be a contradiction for him not to trust you and let you go. I hope this helps you.

Not really a good idea, say you have an accident, how you gonna explain that to your dad...there are weirdos around, say someone puts something dodgy in a sweet and you get ill..to be honest ask your dad, but get a plan first, eg times you will be going, where and what time you should be back and promise to phone him when you do get back..be honest with your dad or he will never trust you again

Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, you need to respect your dad's beliefs, and follow his rules. In 4 years when you are an adult, and supporting yourself then you can dress up and go trick-or-treating. (Borrow a neighbor child and take him/her if you are worried about objections to your age.)
Going behind his back is showing you can't be trusted and are not mature enough to make decisions for yourself, proving to one and all you are a spoiled kid. Be mature. Submit to the rules and you will gain respect of not just parents but your peers.

your dad obviously doesn't approve of trick or treating if you get caught you might be in big trouble. Try talking to him tell him its just fun but don't go behind his back and get into trouble its not worth it

Tell your dad its not begging, its extortion. Thats what the Trick part is.

Then fill his shoes with baked beans so he understands.

sneaking around isnt a good thing because if anything was to happen to you they wouldnt know as they would just be assuming that you were at your friends
