just wondering if i get a blood test from the doctors to see if i am pregnant how long will the results take? i live in the uk

It depends on how they setup. Now I not get pregnant, Ha! But, when my Doctor has blood drawn usually it anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on the number of people having this done. That a full blown test. It tells everything from cholesterol to some forms of cancer!!! Heck, it will even tell if I'm pregnant, but, I not get pregnant! Ha!
Most of the Doctors I know, when a woman is tested for pregnancy they just use something similar to those EPT strips, only theirs is a round thing and they say it more accurate (fancy word for expensive). I guess to be sure they may do a blood test. If, insurance covers it then good. This a natural thing, I never knew any woman where I live do it, usually they just buy a EPT at the store and then have a good idea, which will be confirmed in a few months easy buy the proverbial "extending tummy syndrome".

Well I'm in the UK too, and at our surgery its a weeks waiting for a pregnancy test to come back, but that's for Urine..not blood??? Are you sure you have this right? Also blood tests take normally a week from the doctors too :D

Why are you needing a blood test to tell you if you are pregnant or not, just pee on a stick in the surgery and they will tell you within 2 mins.

Its usually a week later, i get my blood tested every 3 months and its always a week, unless something is wrong and then they will phone you.

the nurse told me 5 days unless something is wrong i still had to phone the surgery on the 6th day because i had heard nothing, then the midwife had left them in her draw at the hospital so still didn't get to see them!

blood test took only a few minutes......but to test if you are pregnant or not...they used your urine not your blood!!!!
or you can buy the over the counter...pregnancy test....just follow the direction...its so easy..!!!!!
