You can actually see baby guppies born if your watching at the right time. The mother fish swims around and out comes a baby fishy. It's best to have plants for the babies to hide in. Guppies are live baring which means they do not hatch from eggs. Your pregnant female guppies should be separated from the rest when ready to give birth and then taken from the fry after birth so that the fry have a chance especially in community tanks. Adult fish will eat the babies. The fry will need special fry foods. So you my want to consult you pet store for such needs. The babies are hard to see at first being transparent with the exception of their little eyes. Watch carefully they bread like rabbits!

Guppy eggs look like little fishies...that is why they are called LIVE BEARERS! They bear (give birth to) their young alive.
FYI: Mollies, Platys, and Sword Tails are also Live Bearers.

Guppies give live birth to their young... When you see a pregnant female remove her and place her into her own tank! Provide hiding places for the young (they will be eaten if you don't)...
