Stretch marks occur when the skin stretches so fast that collagen is damaged. Basically stretch marks are a type of scar caused by damage to your stretched skin.

Stretch marks are most common on the belly and thighs, but they can occur anywhere the skin has been overstretched. When skin becomes overstretched, the normal production of collagen, the main component in the elasticity of skin, becomes hindered.

No method has been developed to completely eliminate stretch marks. There are various ways of reducing the appearance of stretch marks. The common treatments for stretch marks are topical treatments (creams, ointments and body make up), microdermabrasion and laser therapy.

Some of the topical creams are Raw Shea Butter, Rosewood oil, Mandarin oil, and Vitamin E creams.

I had twins and gained 110 lbs. I am mixed race as well , and they are just an awful color on my dark skin.Okay so i now have been using a half cup of olive oil, a 4th cup of aloe vera gel,6 vitamin e capsules,6 vitamin a capsules ,put it in the blender amd use it 2x a day. You really have to rub it in,massage it in for like 10 minutes. It helps alot. You can hardly see mine anymore, the skin matches in color and the texture has improved. You can't make them go away but you can help them look better. Its worth a try.

i do weights quite a bit & i eat alot so i get them allover my arms, my chest & my hips (i'm a guy) the best think i've found is cocoa butter for the skin. if you want something more besides the cocoa butter, what you need is vitamin E & lots of it.

but the cocoa butter with smooth & tone your skin so you should have that regularly too

& it does work!!

Nothing. Cocoa butter didn't work for me. But i've heard of a cream to make them les noticeable you can find it at CVS it's called Concha Nacar made out of something from shells. It claims to help reduce them. i'm going to try it myself.
