We need to first recognize that their leader is a simple megalomaniac who represses his populace, was educated by and believes in a system that desires worldwide communism, espouses the theory that out of conflict comes progress, and that the way to 'deal' with the West is to take two steps forward and one back in all confrontations. His system is doomed to eventual decline from within due to human instincts, needs and desires, and he now stands alone -- even separated from Communist China at this point. Let him fulminate, impose the sanctions, and test whatever while we encourage the Chinese to cause his deposal or assasination, and, meantime, wait him out. The USSR(which had thousands of deliverable nukes) failed economically and socially from within, and so will he. Treat him as the petty tyrant that he is, but continue to put a fence around his possible actions. He already knows where that fence is, BTW, but he enjoys stirring the pot. I don't think we should even bother negotiating with him becuase he does not negotiate in good faith as evidenced by his disregard of previous treaties immediately after he signed them. We should propagandize his population and use all means at our disposal to hamper any of his dissemination of information to his people. We should encourage our allies in the area. Hell, we 'should' withdraw all our troops to get them out of any harm's way and just dare -- on threat of nuclear retaliation -- the SOB to send even one soldier across the demarcation line. The USA must stand tall with a big stick and this may be the one time to use it without having every liberal in the world condemn us. You can bet that the use of the ultimate deterant would vastly reorder all the situations in the world today and we might enjoy a 'pax Americana' for a thousand years or more. My only reason for exercising any restraint is that we are a society that operates on a higher plane and have higher ideals than he or most of the world. One of our responsibilities is to assure the future of our better system and even though most of us believe as FDR said, "I hate war", we sometimes must commit that act to defend our way of life.

With North Korea's paranoia, we may be unable to do anything without them perceiving a threat. Frankly, the more I read about this I think they are trying to provoke a war with us. If you notice, they keep targeting the U.S. even though China, Japan, and South Korea are either imposing sanctions already or calling for them. Condi Rice has already spoken for the administration stating that we have no intention of attacking or invading North Korea. They are def. a loose cannon and I think they are going to keep going until they have an 'excuse' to use their nuclear weapons.

I dont think there is anything we can do hun. It's not gonna get any better. And it's gone too far on our side. Now it's become an issue of pride. You think Bush is gonna back down now that he's gotten this far? What would ppl think if he backed down after coming on so strong? Never.

All I say is go out and enjoy your life. Don't stress about work. Just show up and do what you can. Take care of your families and friends. Shut the tv off and enjoy them. Get out of the house on the weekends and drive as far as you can before turning back. Eat slower, enjoy the taste. Don't worry about money.. and loans. Who knows if you will ever have to pay them back, lol.

No seriously. I guess Im just trying to say enjoy life and dont look back. None of us know how long we have but with these current events it doesn't look like long.

Oh, and pray, if you do.

While i appreciate and admire the soldiers that are fighting in Iraq., I vote to pull our soldiers out....build a big wall..and protect ourselves. Let these other countries battle it out themselves. When they have destroyed each other...we can go in and get the oil ourselves. It seems we are at war with too many countries and leaving ourselves open for attacks!

Well they should know, that if they try to hit us with one, we will hit them with 10. They try it again, the country will be wiped off the earth. I'm pretty sure that's what these crazy leaders want any how. What ever they try, if they do they can kiss their asses goodbye.
