Can we really blame the media? They only give us what we ask for right? It's been proven that Americans are drawn more into bad than good.

We don't have enough bad in our own lives, that is why we want to see it. Think about it, if we were a third world country and someone came over here and bombed us, killing about one in 40 of us, would we want to see the drama? Hell no, we would want only good.

I think you have two issues here: one is the way in which the news today is reported with all the drama; two is the focus on bad news. On the first, I think people want facts about events that matter to know. News is getting more about drama, more biased, and less about fact. I don't think everyone is on board... that's why George Clooney film about Ed Murrow was such a hit... ;-)

On the second issue, I think it's more about human nature. Why do people gather around an accident sight or slow down to stare at a traffic wreck? This is nothing new... think about greek tradegies! But alas... it's too much for me! I don't watch the local news and only catch the headlines on the web or on the radio.

I'm not too into drama (I hate soaps!), but maybe some people are. I'm more drawn to good than bad-I'm tired of people being so down all of the time.
