That comparison is pretty interesting. You know, i've read your previous answers/questions and you apparently have a big problem with blacks, in general. Why even bother yourself with these rhetorical questions? What's the point?
It's strange because some of your other questions are asking about blacks and the race card and crying wolf regarding racism, and you actually are apparently prejudiced. Hmmmm....you're not getting that, are you?
By someone with such an "interesting" take on reality, i'm not sure if you're the right person to pose such questions as these seeing as your own opinion of an entire race fuels them.
I don't know if you've joined any white nationalist groups but that may be a good place for you. At least you'll have people who think like you do.
While you're doing that, I'll continue living my fabulous life.

Same reason that Jews remember the Holocaust. It was a significant period in history, and shows how far they've come in society, the hardships they've faced and how they've risen above it. It's the same reason people will never forget 9-11. A significant event in history, you know nothing will ever be the same. Same with slavery and civil rights. Blacks had to really struggle, but as a result of the teachings of MLK and Malcolm X, among countless others, they've come a long way. There's still quite a ways to go, no doubt, but they've most certainly come a LONG way.
Same way, when my husband brings up something I did in the past, I try to show him how "yea, that was then, but because of that, look at what I've become now" - that I've gotten stronger, have improved, etc. Of course, if he brings up something and I'm still the same today, then I have no excuse and I really *am* in the red about whatever it is that he brought up.

I'm not sure I see the connection between a significant other complaining about how you didn't buy her a b-day card 5years ago and an entire race of people who were enslaved, beaten, raped, killed, etc for hundreds of years. Those two types of complaints are on completely different lvls of significance if you ask me.
I think blacks bring up slavery and such because sometimes, no i take that back, a lot of times it seems like white people forget- or more likely just don't care about our past-which is really irritating considering most blacks have to go to school and learn about white history everyday. Then they don't understand why certain things that they do make us angry- or they don't understand why many blacks are just naturally angry. Our history is important because it gives insight into our current opinions and attitudes.

People like yourself; thrive on separatist and the disparity between the various cultures; that defines America. Your real question should be; what have I done to make America a better place for myself, neighbors, community, state, and country. Why waste your time and others; with intolerance rhetoric? This argument is a catalyst, for nothing more than unrealistic generalizations, to cast false illusions of arrogant security.

Wow, you people have some serious attitude... maybe you should look into the class system as a whole instead of just rolling your eyes. The real history of this country is interesting, and if people didnt re-write history, things might've really turned out differently. And when there are riots and a revolution, you can just roll your eyes and blame it on someone else when the people that should be blamed are the ones who are right here, right now.

While it's a good thing to remember our past so we (hopefully) learn from it, it is also true to put it into today's prospective. A good percentage of blacks are doing very well today. About as good as women (of any color), Native Americans (who are doing worse), and any other group that is not listed as male and white.
Get my point?

We should never forget? Why so the blacks can use it as an excuse? Black people are extremely capable people, they don't need to use this as an excuse anymore, they can survive just as well as anyone else in this country. That is of course if you're not looking to be president (lololol!)

Pssh if blacks were smarter they would have followed the Native Americans of the South and North and refused to do labor..
I mean come one you had millions and millions of natives already here but they pussed out and said fudge this! So the Euro's went to African and stole, bought, captured, slaves from FELLOW Africans.
Sides let them bish about slavery its still better to be a 3rd class citizen here than a King in Africa!
