You seem to be stuck on Tom Cruise. However, Top Gun is the only movie I can think of that I really liked by him, and is the only movie by him I have in my DVD library of over 400 movies. At that time it was not all about Tom Cruise. Your suggestion for him to come back into action because the US Gov.needed him would again suggest it would be all about him.

I would say no, as I feel a thespian should continue to explore opportunities for other variety of roles. For Tom, it would be good if he can aspire to become the next Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Sean Connery, etc..

However, if a market research were to be conducted and find that an idea of him in Top Gun 2 is what the public wants, I guess he should, or rather, would.

No, Tom should stay home and help take care of that baby he fathered and also get married to it's mother. He has been a lousy husband to a couple of women already and needs to finally get it right this time. Obviously, this guy has major issues.

I'll agree, the government needs something, but i don't think Top Gun 2 is it.

There's one problem here he was fired from Paramount studios because this is the studio were Top Gun was made and they will have to rehire him.
