Being a teacher is something that many people choose because of their love of children. If you are facinated by their discovering new abilities and their constant questioning of everything around them then you may be interested in becoming a teacher. Depending on the age group there may be specific things you are interested in such as music, if you like to teach band, etc or art classes, for example. You may have an interest in Science or Literature and want to share that with older students on the high school or middle school level. It is a noble profession because it involves giving alot of yourself and your free time and the financial rewards are not nearly as great as other professions.

To become a teacher you must obtain a Bachelors degree from a college or university and perform student teaching and pass a teacher exam that each state offers it's graduates.

Teacher is a good proffesion, however you have to have steel nerves to help the kids these days. My grandmother was a teacher in HS. She tought Chemistry and biology. My mother is a PE teacher. My grandmother became a teacher because then it was a very prestigious job and wanted to become a teacher for the pay too. I am not so sure if she liked kids that much. My mother on the other side loves kids ( we have 5 kids in the family) and the PE was the closest to her other proffesion. My mother has been a teacher for over 0 years and grams was for 45 years.
Honestly I ould never want to become a teacher, way too many problems. kids just don't listen sometimes and the problem is that you can't make then want to learn the subject.
But hey, good luck with your essay. Hope the link below helps.
Good Luck

What other job do you know of where you get a very high salary, over two months off each year and a pension to die for. Also, because you're in a union, you can't be fired. If you like travel, become a teacher and apply to work overseas at one of the International schools. These schools teach children from western embassies. You make a ton of money and live in great places. I know some teachers who do this. They get tax free imports through the American Embassy along with a car and tax free salaries. Not a bad deal.

Teachers get to play a hand in the development of the students who are the future leaders of our society. Teaching is much more than disseminating facts - it also involves the instilling of thinking skills, logic skills, verbal skills, physical skills and values of consideration for the person next to you and across the world.

Requirements: Bachelor degree in Arts, Science, and/or Physical Education. Then a Bachelor degree in Education.
