I just bought new ink cartridges and printer will not print in color, the type of printer cartridges is the recycled staples brand for this type printer and the black cartridge is working. I have the setting on automatic color. Any Ideas?

Take the color cartridge out of the printer and look at the bottom portion. Is there still any tape on it? If not, take that copper portion and dab it on a tissue or a piece of paper or something and see if you can see any color.

If the cartridge is blocked and no ink is coming out, then try soaking that copper portion in a little bit of water. If you put it in water and you see ink flowing out, you know it's not blocked, so you can dry it off and reinstall it. Then run the cleaning utilities and see what happens.

They are re manufactured cartridges. Thus they are used. From time to time you will get one that is in poor condition or not working. Take the cartridge back to staples and get an exchange. I assure you the cartridge is the issue. Recycling is an imperfect process.

You got remanufactured cartridge from Staples. Take it back and they will exchange it. Unfortunately that happens to reman cartridges. Not often but you're lucky ;)
