You probably need to add more roughage to your diet. Find vegetables and fruit that you and your children like and try to incorporate them into every meal. Snack like raw broccoli and carrot sticks with dip are excellent for promoting bowel function. You should also try to drink as much water as you can during the day. Eight 8 ounce glasses of water, at the least. Try to avoid straining when having a bowel movement.

Rectal bleeding WITHOUT pain, or explaination is one of the first noted symptom of colon cancer. In your case, you know what's causing the bleeding.

Not to worry. What you have described is called fissure.
Anal fissure to be exact. A fissure is a tear that extends upward into the anal canal from the anal sphincter. When you have a bowel movement severe pain and bleeding can occur. The reason this is happening is lack of fiber in your diet. A person who eats 3 meals a day should have a bowel movement at least once a day.
So eat plenty of fiber to clean out your colon to have normal bowel function.

`if we eat 3 times a day we should use our bowels 3 times a day.
`magnesium may help, take tablets or eat brazil nuts etc
`1-2 teaspoons of pysillium in a glass of juice
`2 big glasses of warm water 1st thing in the morning, do not eat until the bowels have opened (avoid cold drinks, this can make the problem worse)
`senna tablets
`the slimming tea that is found in asian markets
`chew each mouthful of food slowly, 30-40 times
`it is best to avoid yeast bread, the yeast grows a fungus in us, take Olive Leaf extract to kill the fungus
`constipation can be stress related, there is a herb from the health store called Agrimony, this herb helps us to 'not hold on to our problems or our bowels, but to let our problems go & tells our brain its ok to let the bowels evacuate' believe me, i know it works
`other stress solutions- St Johns Wort, Evening Primrose oil with Fish oil
`these things should be effective for you & your children, dont let them suffer with this any longer. If there is still constipation, go consult a Homeopath, as there is homeopathic nerve & bowel formulas. Homeopaths are great, they have the answers when all else has failed

You ar eating the wrong foods. Buy more fruits, bran cereal, brown beans, you know...all those foods that are filled with fiber. You should never push yourself togoto the bathroom thats why you bleed. Try not to eat cheese or foods that are really fatty for a while. Apples also work..really well...good luck! and see your doctor perhaps he can help you out a little more than i did...xo

You could have internal hemmorrhoids that are being torn when you deficate. Try taking a fiber supplement and drink alot more water...atleast 8 glasses a day. Also, go see your doctor, bleeding isn't normal and could be a sign of something more serious...especially if the blood is dark colored or looks like coffee grounds.

You may have hemorrhoids, or something more serious (a tear, polyp or tumor). To be sure, consult a doctor.

In the meantime, you can:
- get hemorrhoids lotions/pads/suppositories/pads
- drink more fluids (to soften the stool)
- eat more fiber (fruits/veggies) to be more regular
- eat fiber supplements such as Metamucil or others

To be sure this is not serious, do get checked.
