I found out at about 16 weeks. When they do an ultra sound they can tell almost right away as long as the baby cooperates. If the baby won't pose for the doctor you gotta wait until the next time. Which kinda stinks. So far I've been lucky none of my kids seem to be camera shy.

by 14 weeks the gentiles are formed enough to be seen, but not on ultrasound until about 15-16 weeks. A good technician might be able to get a good view at that time. Usually though, the best time is between 18-20 weeks, though this is usually considered late for the ultrasound they generally use to find the sex (theyre really checking on heart and organ development. The sex of the baby is just a perk.)

if baby cooperates, 16 weeks but most drs do an ultrasound around 20 weeks and give you the option to find out the sex of the baby.

It varies, especially with all the technological advances, but my sister had a sonogram done at 5 months and they couldn't tell, so she had a sonogram scheduled in a close by larger city about 3-4 weeks later and they did the sonogram somehow that played background music and took digital pictures and everything and they GAVE HER A DVD of it. It is soooo beautiful. It does cost about $200 and is not covered by most insurance companies, but I wish like crazy they had it when I was pregnant, b/c it would be the best way to spend $200! Well, I'm not there yet, but I was told about 15-16 weeks, or about 4 months. Its a long wait, but its worth it if you really want to know. Sometimes they still can't tell at that point, if the baby is not cooperating by being in the right position. They can be pretty stubborn!

You can find out about 20 weeks as long as the baby corporates in the ultrasound!

I found out I was having a boy at my 16 week 1 day ultrasound....I will find out in 19 days or less if they were correct!!!
(Although it was confirmed at the 20 week and the 33 week ultrasound)

I have had 5 kids and each baby I found out between 20-21 weeks. They were right each time with what they said.

We found out the day I was 22 weeks, you could find out earlier, but my dr wanted to wait until the 22nd week so she'll be more sure. We are having a baby girl!!
