Well John,

I think some of the other answerers are being a bit harsh.

5 CSE's is roughly the same as GCSEs.

So, its a useful bunch to have, together with your life experience i woudl say it equates to a better proposition if comparing you to someone with 5 GCSEs

Personally, I think your 5 CSEs are equivalent to about 8 GCSEs but what do i know.

O Levels/CSEs are equivalent to GCSEs. And 2 of them are equivalent to a NVQ Level 2

I changed career recently, my 8 CSE's were taken (by my new employer) as equiv' to GCSE's of the same grade.

i think they are equivalent to todays gcse's but you can always check with a local college or secondary school.

I am sure that they are the same as GCSEs, but they were probably harder.
