oh dear...

Yes, you are entitled to your pay, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will get it.

You are near the bottom of the list in terms of priority for payouts.

If you do get something, it is likely to only be a small percentage of what they owe you.

Look at this positively ( i know it's hard). At least it is not more than 2 weeks pay. It could have been much worse.

Make sure you go and sign on at the job centre for benefits as soon as possible. Don't wait - they won't back date any claims

Assuming the company has gone bust, the tax man has first claim on any remaining assets of the company. The next priority is the pension fund, then any employees owed wages.

However, the bad news is that if they were paying wages with an overdraft, the bank can claim that back BEFORE any remaining unpaid wages are settled. The good news is that you will be ahead of other creditors such as suppliers.

The net result is that you may get it all - or you may get little or nothing, sadly - depending on the assets remaining in the company. Just be thankful it was only two weeks.

If you got laid up you'll get paid. If the check does not arrive in about a month don't be shy. Write saying you've not been paid for the work you did and you'll appreciate if you get paid. Then see what happens.

You're entitled to claim it though it may be difficult or impossible to get it.

Definitely ask for it though!
