We have a low area in our yard that is about 12 ft long and 5 ft wide. Everytime it rains it floods about 3 or 4 in of water and there is no grass there no matter how many times it has been seeded. We tried to lay down flat roacks and use mulch to fill in btween rocks, but our idiot dog keeps digging rocks out. What can I do so that this area isn't muddy and flooded and keep our dog from digging up our solutions?

It sounds like you have a simple low spot in your yard. If that is the case, the best advice might be to fill it in. Fill dirt/top soil should do the trick and shouldn't be too expensive. Based on your measurements, a little less than a cubic yard of fill should be enough to bring the grade up to level. You can buy the fill in bags at your local home improvement center, or you can have it delivered by a landscape company in bulk.

A word of caution. Make sure that your yard drains away from the house. If your fill project causes the water to flow towards your house, you could find yourself with a wet crawlspace or a wet basement.

Good luck with your problem.

Do some ground work. Take it all up and start angan.A high rise would be better and tarin your dog, "it's not right to do that".Talk to your dog but lightly tap the nose or you can do him damage by his smell. Fence in the area after your done so the ground is hard for next srping in the meantime.
cheers

do a 'dry creek' with river rocks and no mulch.

there is some stuff you can purchase at someplace like a gardening center or pet store that you sprinkle around an area to keep cats and dogs away. it's like fox urine or something.
sprinkle some around your new dry creek.
