I'm a new mom too, and i get WIC, they gave this list of recommended portions according to the baby's age (notice it says recommended, it's not a strict rule)
i do only 2 servings (2 tablespoons twice a day) of veggies right now because she's only 5 months old. and i give her cereal twice a day. with each of these feedings i give her 6 ounces of formula.
in about 2 weeks I'm gonna introduce one serving of fruit also. eventually I'll increase the amount of fruit and vegetables, (but i was told to give more vegetables than fruit, i guess because fruits have more sugars)
and at about 7 months I'm gonna give her little bits of meat too.
good luck with your baby!

in accordance to the USDA food pyramid, I could desire to have 3 to 5 servings of vegetables on a daily basis. A serving is a million/2 cup cooked vegetables, a million cup leafy eco-friendly vegetables, or 3/4 cup of vegetable juice. So, confident, i'm getting that plenty, and then some.

When they are that age that is about all they can eat. So baby gets tons of fruits and veggies. I made all my own food for my baby so I also gave my baby a few more options that are not out there in the jars. Like beets, blueberries, strawberries, mango. I would just cook till tender and run it through a food mill.

It's not really that important to make sure baby has a certain number of servings of fruits and veggies per day at this age. Just give your baby food and don't worry about how many servings baby's getting. It's just for experimentation at this age, not for nutritional value at all. They don't follow the food pyramid until age 2.
I would give a couple bites of veggies per day at 6 months. I started giving more regular foods at about 9 months (table foods).

When my daughter was on three baby food meals a day and formula in bottles, I would give her baby cereal and fruit in the morning, a fruit and a veggie for lunch, and a dinner and dessert for dinnertime. (the dinner usually includes a veggie, and some desserts have the fruit) So she had fruit around 3 times, and veggies twice.
