I have a Lite-On brand and you could try a cleaner. Buy one at Wally-World and use it weekly or more depending on how often you use the drive. Also, I have three discs the lite-on will not read for anything despite other drives being able to read the discs...

good luck

Make sure the media you are trying to read is compatible with your dvd-burner. More information is needed. Are the dvd's you're trying to read burned with another unit, were the dvd's finalized, is the media dvd+ or dvd- only, is the dvd having problems reading an original dvd movie? This are questions that have to be asked in order to determine a solution. If your dvd burner is able to read original dvd movies all the time, than the dvd burner is working like it should and must be the media that the data is being copied to. If the movies don't always play, then I'd say its your dvd burner. Good Luck!

if it is within the warranty period, get it checked immediately. if not, then get it checked from some where else. or if you are good at computer hardware, you can open it to clean it, that might help.
