I hope you Chemistry teacher hasn't asked you to memorize them. My kids were given that task by an unimaginative teacher. But, there was a trick to it and they got through ok.
I got a well known story with a lot of characters or objects ... like Hansel and Gretel. Then I took out 10 key words and asked the kids for things starting with those elements (2 at a time).
The more stupid sounding, the easier to remember.
We had Henry Higgins (Hydrogen - Helium) and Little Betty (Lithium - Beryllium) living with their dad, Baron Coffalot (Boron - Carbon) .... and then it got crazier and funnier.
as with all school subjects, have fun with it
