I see alot of you say that money is the major cause. If so, is it the lack of money or what?

Men and women donot realise that friendship and marriage are completely diferent People can be friends and still be not married. People can be married and still be friends. .But, friendship does not bind two people legally like marriage does. But a commitment is necessary for marriage to work.

I analyse that the four pillars of marriage are Love Trust, respect and Intimacy. If one or more will be missing in a marriage it will not work. All of them are inter related too.

People are not ready to put the work a marriage requires. People go in thinking it will all be flowers and dreams when in reality it's more about selflessness, giving up some of your dreams so you can accomplish a common one. Plus, some get lazy and stop working on the romance side of the relationship, which ends up making one or the other (or both!) feel like there's something lacking. Marriage is not easy! We have such high divorce rates because people don't weigh the pros and cons of taking that relationship to the next level before they start playing house.

Money problems is by far the biggest cause of divorce. I think the problem in the United States is that people give up too easily. They dont really understand what for better or worse means and when times get a little tough they quit.

I think the major causes of divorce would be going into it for all the wrong reasons which is a prelude to everything else that could be bad in a marriage ie lack of communication, adultery, abuse. It takes work and things don't heal themselves.

I think the main cause of divorce is boredom to be honest. You see so many people divorce daily and it's either adultery or 'irreconciable differences'. Why do people cheat? Maybe the marriage isn't as fun as it used to be, yeah there could be problems and the relationship wouldn't be all boring, but my opinion it just becomes less exciting.

Adultery. No explanation needed.
Finances. Lack of money has a tendency to put a major strain on a couple. Although personally, I dont believe money should ever be a reason to end a marriage.

1) Lack of communication.
2) Failure to compromise.
3) Different long term goals.
4) Experts will say it's money and infidelity, but these things are a the effect with #s 1-3 the cause.

Every case is different. There are a broad range of reasons, but here are a few...

Some get married for:

convince
Lust
Feeling as if they must have someone in their lives
Money
Peer/family pressure

This isn't enough to keep them together, so they depart.

It is too easy to get divorced. What else do we do in life that is such a big deal that is so easy to undo? NOTHING! It should be much harder, with some mandatory steps before people can go there. You got married, where the heck is the courage of your convictions!?
