It is 100% normal to experience frequent urination at night during your first trimester and beyond. Your body is going through some pretty intense changes, hormone wise, and your system is more active than usual in flushing out contaminants.

If your urine is cloudy, dark colored, or burns you when you pee, then you might be experiencing a kidney or bladder infection, which needs to be addressed, as they can cause complications with your pregnancy.

Otherwise, do not fret. Just drink lots of water (thats the best thing for your baby right now) and hopefully this too shall pass. However, don't be surprised if you remain this way your entire pregnancy. Some women have all the luck! ; )

Oh, and a good resource for these types of questions is webMD. If you can't find the answer there, call your doctor.

Best of luck with your pregnancy!

early in my pregnancy for some reason, i did the same thing....get up to pee EVERY night. I even tried taking sleeping pills to get me through the night without peeing...didn't work though. My bodies urge to pee took over. I guess what happens is that your body starts mass producing fluids(blood and retaining more water and stuff) so that there is enough to sustain that little baby inside of you. Then your kidneys are working overtime to filter all the fluids, which end up making you pee more. Take it as a good sign that your body is working VERY well. It really sucks though. From early in my pregnancy and up until my son was 7 months(just 1 month ago), i hadn't slept through the night(1 1/2 yrs). Don't want to scare ya though, just try and take naps when you can!! ya gotta take care of yourself!! Also a little food for though, I did have a urinary tract infection right before and during a little bit of my pregnancy which may have contributed to my peeing. So maybe ask your doc to test for a urinary tract infection?????????? i read all your worries about getting pregnant, and when the day finally came, congrats to you..it is a wonderful feeling that can't ever be replaced.

Its very normal. I am 21 weeks pregnant and I was peeing 4 to 5 times a night easily when I was 8 weeks. By the end of my 3rd month it subsided a little, but now I am starting to pee lots again. I got up about 4 times last night. When you're pregnant your kidneys work over time as you have an increased blood supply and retain more fluids. They will tend to excrete more urine at night. And then later in pregnancy obviously the frequent peeing comes from the uterus putting pressure on your bladder. Just do most of your drinking during the day time, drink lots of water and cranberry juice to ward off UTI's. If you drink enough during the day, you shouldn't be thirsty at night.

First of all, congrats on the baby!! :)

Yes, it's normal. When I was in my first trimester I got up about 3 times a night also, having to pee. Once you are in your second trimester it should ease up (because your baby is moving up in your belly) By the third trimester though, the baby is getting so big that he/she will be pushing on you bladder all the time! I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I get up to go to the bathroom at least 5 times a night, if not more! Just the other day I sneezed and some leaked out...thats how bad it gets! Good luck, and just think...there is an end to this! ;)

The reason for peeing so much is because think about you are drinking more water. Your body is going through a ton of changes right now. The reason you may feel bloated your body is working overtime right now with the zygote to get all the fluid he needs. You may show before four months like most it is all right. The bladder infection will hurt when you pee and may look like a different color compared to normal. Try going to the store and trying on smaller size maternity clothes to see how you feel. Good Luck!

Oh girl... It will only get worse as the baby grows. There is pressure on the bladder already. The bladder won't hold much as time goes by, and the pressure will make you feel like killing to go to the bathroom, when all you put out is a couple of drops...

That is at the very end, though...

Congrats and good luck with your new baby!

Yep! Completely normal. My co-workers used to tease me about moving my office to the ladies room or taking money out of my check to re-tile from my office to the ladies room! LOL

It will ease up some but then get really bad when the baby gets big because of the lack of space, the baby will be putting pressure on your bladder so you will go constantly but just a little at a time.

Normal. Happens sometimes. Should ease up a little when the pregnancy is further along, at least until lightening, when baby drops like a rock back on top of your bladder.

Good luck!

You betchya its normal. It will pass though. Your body is using more fluids, and needs time to adjust to it. In a few weeks or so your body will regulate and you wont pee as often until the baby is big enough to squish your bladder.

Perfectly normal.

It's normal. In the beginning you pee more because of hormones. In the end you pee more because the baby is big. You get a break from peeing a lot in the middle.
