You have started something that you don't know about? Wouldn't be wise to study up on St. John's Wort before you start taking it? St. John's wort has been used for centuries to treat mental disorders and nerve pain. In ancient times, herbalists wrote about its use as a sedative and a treatment for malaria, as well as a balm for wounds, burns, and insect bites. Today, St. John's wort is used by some for depression, anxiety, and/or sleep disorders.

I tried it and found that it had no significant effect on me. DO NOT take it with any other anti-depressants it can cause major problems. If you are taking diazepam (do they still prescribe that stuff?!!!!) stop taking the St John's Wort. See your doctor and ask for his advice.

I've heard it works quite well, in Germany some doctors actually prescribe it. It can mess with other medication you're taking, however (such as the contraceptive pill), so check with your doctor before taking.

I heard it's supposed to be good for depression but do not take with other meds. It also stops the pill from working properly if you are on it.
