Citgo is a company owned in whole by the government of Venezuela but is incorporated and operates in the US. Would you consider them to be an "American Company"?

I never did buy Citgo and this was before Hugo Chavez ran his mouth off about the US. Chavez is a tyrant and a hypocrite.

He claims Bush is a dictator when he fired employees of his oil company who voted to have him replaced, forced a constitution change so he could remain in office and took away government assistance from poor people who voted against him. It's no wonder over 50% of the population of Venezuela won't vote because they know it's useless.

I am a capitalist and very proud of that because capitalism allows anyone born under it's system to achieve greatness. Under Socialism there is no desire to achieve because everyone is the same. Chavez has placed the survival of his government all in one commodity (oil) what will happen should the oil run out or biodiesel take off? Socialism by it's nature is totalitarian because you deprive the people of entering into the same business as the state and you must take by force the product and means of production from those who already have it (the businesses).

BP operates in the US and has smaller companies based in the US but they are still a British company. Jiffy Lube is an American based company but they are owned by Royal Dutch.

Citgo is owned by a socialist tyrant with a serious obsession with bringing down the US because we're the most economically stable nation on earth because we are the great capitalist society.

Chavez hates that. It's kind of like why so many Arabs hate Israel. Because of all the nations of the Middle East Israel has no oil and is the most productive, most wealthy, most technologically advanced, most urbanized and most fertile nation in the whole Middle East.

We represent the failures of those who hate us and they hate us because we keep doing it.

The dollar speaks. I don't buy Citgo gas anymore, I wouldn't care if it were a buck a gallon cheaper.

Profits go to that nutcase, Chavez. About as anti-American as you can get. I know there are employees throughout the U.S. but somewhere we have to draw the line.
