Rental car companies make their own rules, as to qualifications of renters. Almost all are going to require a major credit card (many do not accept debit cards with a credit card logo). The age limit may be as low as 18, or as high as 26.

You will need a valid driver's license, and in some cases they will do a check on your driving record before allowing you to rent. If you have a bad record, you may not be allowed to rent from them.

The major rental companies offer insurance and damage wavers that you can purchase. Some (not all, so check before you are at the rental counter) credit cards offer some damage coverage also. Some smaller rental companies may require you to have your own liability coverage, so you would not be able to rent from them.

Call around and get price and requirements from several companies, and then you have a basis for your choices!

A valid Driving License and a Credit Card or a bunch of cash. It doesn't matter if you have insurance,.as you can purchase physical damage insurance from the rental company [the liability insurance is covered in the daily rate]The physical damage will cost you about $15.00 per day on top of the car rental.

I said a bunch of cash is necessary if you don't have a credit card and it is, They always want a huge cash deposit, if something happens they will have enough cash to cover cost. With a credit they just bill your credit card.

I believe their is a minimum age requirement depending on where you live. Good Luck I hope this helps.

All you need is a driver's license, credit card, and a minimum age of 21.

Insurance follows the vehicle so you don't NEED insurance. They will offer insurance on a per diem but it is almost never needed. By law, the rental company has to insure their own vehicles.

In the US,
1) you must be over 21 years of age,
2) have a valid drivers license,
3)Rental may be subject to a verification of your driving record. All renters/drivers are subject to having their driving records and licenses checked
4) present an acceptable credit card

You need a valid drivers license and a credit card in your name. You can pay for their insurance at the place you rent the car. Age might an issue depending where you live.

You will need your license and a credit card that they will keep on file to make sure they get paid. They will not charge your card without your authorization it is just a precaution for their paperwork. Most places also won't rent to you unless you are 21 or if you are under 21 they call your insurance company to make sure you are signed up on your policy to drive a rental car.

Insurance usually comes with the rental, if you buy it. In my experience, I needed a credit card to rent the car. I can't remember if there was a lower limit on the age, though. I would guess you needed to be at least 21, but it may be different in your area.

If you are old enough, you just will have to pay the extra for their insurance which is really high. Even if you have your own insurance you better make sure that your insurance will cover a rental car. If it don't and something happens hope it is not your fault.

In the US, you'll need a credit card, and a driver's license. If you don't have your own insurance, you can buy it through the rental car agency. It's expensive, though.
