My sister in law sells Mary Kay so she did me and my bridesmaids makeup for my wedding. Everyone looked great and we had fun getting made up! She should be able to give you a makeover before the big day though so she can figure out your colors and to see if you like it! We also did the satin hands and that was nice! You want your hands smooth when he slides that ring on your finger!! Congratulations!!!

Hi, this is Adam C.'s g/f and I love the Mary Kay products, I've been using them for about 10 years. They are high quality, last all day and don't feel heavy. The best thing to do would be to let you colleague give you a facial and ask her if you can try the oil-mattifier if you're worried about shine. You can apply it right over your foundation/powder and you can reapply it as many times as needed. It won't take off your make-up and you can tell an immediate difference if you have problems with oil-shine. The make-up does not run and there is a great new mascara called ultimate mascara that is waterproof and it is awesome.

Definitely try it first, and make sure you have plenty of time before your wedding in case it does break you out like the other person mentioned. i have friends that do both.
I think the Mary Kay products have definitely improved over the last few years, and if your friend is skilled enough to teach you how to apply them properly so you get a good look for your wedding (taking in to consideration you will be photographed A LOT that day) then give her a try. But of course, she may ask you to host a party for her...
But, the Estee ladies are great too. My two friends that worked for them were excellent at applying make up. Most will do your make up for a special event if you buy something for them (some ladies are pretty nice and will only ask that you buy a mascara or something)
If I had to choose, I would go with Estee. you have a better chance at getting a great makeup job and the products are nice. you also don't have to worry about coordinating with your friend's schedule, and you may even be able to have them do your makeup on your wedding day.
good luck

I have tried Mary Kay and I hated it! I would go to a Mary Kay rep. and get a makeover to try the products out and see if it is right for you. I would not just buy it and use it for a special day like your wedding without seeing if you like it first. I didn't like how it felt on my skin and it burned my face and eyes. Some people like it, I didn't! Hope this helps!

Just an FYI for you....Mary Kay has been the #1 brand of skin care AND color cosmetics since 1993 over Este Lauder, Clinique, etc. And the main thing is that you can do a full facial FREE with no obligation so try it and if you like it go with it and if you don't then you can try another.

As others have said - try it - full facials are always free and you can try before you buy. Many Mary Kay consultants also have web sites and here it also offers tips for brides from gifts and the wedding party to your look for the wedding and honeymoon. Check it out at http://www.marykay.com/linda.nielsen/whatsnew/bridal/default.aspx?tab=whatsnew and go to your facial with a little knowledge about what you are looking for. Note - you want your skin in good condition and the colors to be classic looking so that when you look at your pictures 25 years from now you still love the way you look! Congratulations!

If you have at least a week or so before your wedding, ask your friend to give you a free makeover using the products she thinks will accomplish what you're looking for. Wear the makeup for several hours, maybe even doing some physical activity so you can see how it reacts when you perspire. If it works out for you and you don't break out or anything, then go for it.

If not, then try some Clinique or Estee Lauder. You can probably get a makeover at their counters at the mall. And give it the same test.

I have had friends who loved all 3 of these brands. You usually just have to try these kinds of products and see how they work for you.

Bare minerals is a really good make- up! it won't clog your pores and it helps with the shine! Go to bareminerals.com It has great coverage and is easy to apply and is good for your skin!
But if you want you should still try mary Kay bu tfor your wedding you should wear something better than that! Good luck!

I love Mary Kay's facial products, but not their make-up. It runs and I swear I could feel it on my face because it was so heavy.

I would go to a Clinique booth at your local mall and speak with one of the salespersons. They usually have trained people that will do makeup for weddings.
