Yes I am Jewish. Does that make the joke okay? Was "Springtime for Hitler" funny? Would it have been funny if Clint Eastwood did it instead of Mel Brooks? Is it okay to joke about murder? Will someone please tell me what I can and can't laugh at?

You can laugh at whatever you want to laugh at. I personally have a very dark/dry sense of humor. I'm American but I have been told I have a British sense of humor. I personally didn't think that "Springtime for Hitler" was funny. I rented it expecting to get a lot of chuckles out of it but it was a disappointment.

You can laugh at anything you want to laugh at, you just might not be very well liked after wards. Today there is so much PC that you really can't say anything without offending someone. The other day I said to my kids, "I'm going to crack the whip" to try to get them to speed up our shopping, unbeknownst to me, that infers to slavery when oversee-er's whipped slaves for working too slow. I got an earful from another shopper. I didn't know I was being racist. Alot of jokes are sick, but funny, too, and I guess if you tell it in the right company, others will laugh too. Joking about murder is touchy--especially the Holocaust--but there are alot of OJ jokes, Scott Peterson jokes, etc. I think as time passes, it's easier to joke about bad things.

to me, this is in very bad taste. there are some things that you just don't joke about, because the event was so serious, and so very wrong, and such a crime against humanity. clint eastwood would not have made a joke of this nature. if mel brooks did, my opinion of him is certainly less than what it was. some things are not funny and never will be. you don't have to be jewish to be offended by a joke of this nature. it is never okay to joke about murder, especially when an entire culture lost family members to someone's whim. you are not wrong in being offended. you can laugh at what you really feel is funny, and not laugh at something that offends your belief of what is right or wrong. you don't need permission to feel what you believe is right or wrong.

You are not a jew! You have a twisted sick f**ked up mind. So you think its okay to consider what to laugh or not laugh about a genocide.
This is a free world, so anyone can joke about anything, slaves, genocides in bosnia, rwanda, germany. whatever. But you are lucky your not standing next to me cause I bet you I would kick that dame a** of yours this minute. Thats how pissed I am. :(

baking a person of a particular ethnicity or religion is never funny. I did not see the Mel Brooks movie....
Auschwitz was not funny at all. It depends how warped and twisted you are... and how comapssionate you are.
The laughter is usually because you are thinking HAHAHA how AWFUL a person is to be that warped and twisted... there are tho.. in my opinion ... lines you do not cross.

You can laugh at anything you want, but baking a Jew is very offensive. Save it for camp fire tales with White Power nuts. Not appreciated here.
