Would you ever just not answer the phone and not come in?

Oh yes, I have done it...just not answered the phone, when I knew they would or even might be calling! It got to the point they don't even try to call anymore!
I don't mind being asked ahead of time to work on an off day, but to get called that morning, makes me frustrated....especially in a job where I am not guaranteed 2 days off in a row, and have to work on weekends...my days off are important!

I would not answer the phone if I didn't want to go in, then say I was away from the phone all day or out of town, and sorry I missed the message.

If I have plans then I won't answer the phone. If I want to make some money then I would.

I was too used to working off days unpaid.
Responsibility weighs in on me.
But if the boss were to ask for it
I will not entertain him right away
quite an attitude yeh!

i wud feel very bad.
depends on the urgency of the work situation and what i am doing at that moment. fortunately, i can work from home, so sometimes its OK. my team ends up working on weekends too. :(
