Dear,
The AT&T EVPN service uses Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) protocol in the backbone. This automatically gives you the flexibility of any-to-any connectivity among the connected sites. It also enables you to establish a VPN with inherent MPLS-based security on the same level as Frame Relay or ATM, and allows you to easily implement new sites without needing to reconfigure the entire VPN.
A higher Quality of Service (QoS) allows applications and users to request and receive a predictable level of service for each traffic type. This focus achieves predictability, reliability and availability in the network by keeping the intelligence at the network edges since this is where most problems (i.e. congestion) occur, and therefore minimizes complexity in the backbone. Latency and bandwidth in the network is managed by applying multiple QoS techniques at the customer site router, including:
Classification based on application needs
Traffic Policing and Traffic Shaping
Packet Queuing / Class-based weighted fair queuing
Congestion mechanisms (WRED)
