Relay errors would probably be an issue with your sending account - not the recipient account. The server at synapsesoftware.com is simply telling you "hey - you don't look like who you say you are to me, so I'm not going to process this message, and I'm sending you back an error instead...." In other words, It thinks you're a spammer. Allowing open relays is actually prohibited by CAN-SPAM legislation, so the synapse mail server is working properly.

You need to check your mail settings. You are probably logged in to one ISP account (say.... yahoo.com) but have the SMTP settings in your email client software set to something else (say..... earthlink.com). If the traffic gets through (which it shouldn't, but must be it is if your other mail goes OK...) then every message you send is going to be flagged as relay traffic, and possibly kicked out by whoever you're sending to.

If those settings in your email software are correct, then talk to your ISP. They've got something screwed up on their end. Open relays are a big no-no for an ISP. Could have been unlucky timing when they're doing maintenance to a server or something. I've had problems like that happen for a few minutes and then clear up many times as an ISP takes something down for maintenance and routes stuff somewhere else in the mean time. Try it again. Good luck

Try adding it to your address book, if you haven't already. Also, your spam guard may be blocking it. Check your spam settings.
