Thats to prevent hackers from taking a copy or "snapshot" of the screen. Some hackers will take an image or snapshot of the screen and they will try to enter their own information by loading it up on their own screen. Scanned or images of a screen will not be able to pick up those scribbled words because they are loaded up on the fly in accordance with your session...so its a security feature. When you make a mistake typing it in and hit enter, then it will produce a different security word on the fly.

I think its a great feature added to secured websites that require you to input personal information.

In order to keep automated programs or "bots" from creating accounts and automatically posting to forums etc. A image containing text is used to validate the entry. As the bot can not recognize the text within the image, it is unable to complete the transaction.

Hi!

Just to let you know, that when you type your entire text in all capital letters, it comes off as "shouting"and is considered rude in Internet etiquette. I know that you did not mean it! Thank you!

I do "hear" your frustration, though! I hate to type, and having to enter in several passwords - all of them vastly different - fairly makes me scream, but I don't want to compromise my security. So I'll just keep my fingernails clipped and my keypad well tapped while I click onward toward the sun ......
