I don't like confrontations but sometimes they're necessary. Don't let people take advantage of you.

I have found that it never works to tell someone off. I let them vent their steam and then I nail them with intelligence. I speak very quietly, use no negative wording, and never give them the satisfaction of seeing that they riled me up. I give the appearance of calm, cool, collected and then say what I have to say only in a very nice way. No one knows how to respond when you do this. They are ready for a battle and there is no fight. They usually hear what you have to say because they realize that they didn't get to you. (even if they did) I never allow (almost never) a person to see that they have riled me. It gives them the upper hand.

I am. I cant handle the thought of me upsetting someone. However, I have been able to 'voice' some things seeing how now I am a new mom and I have a lil' guy to care for. And there are plenty of other times I wish I had it in me, but it's just not a part of me.

I do it all the time. If it is justified and you do it without resorting to name calling or screaming and sticking to the facts it can be very effective.

If you don't tell someone off when you should, you'll spontaneously combust. Not worth it.
