Of course A-Rod didn't play at his best during that series but the yankees didn't as well, the bottom line is the tigers outplayed the yankees.

Bottom line is the Tigers outplayed the Yankees. It was a pitching duel and the Yanks lost. It's not A-Rod's fault, not Jeters, not Torre and (dare I say it cause I hate him) it's not Giambi's fault either. It's the pitching rotation and the bullpen. They need to drop the 'Big Losing Unit' and let the Moose lose - they both suck. And who else is pitching in NY? I have no idea who half those jokers are. Cashman needs to clean out the pitching rotation, the bullpen and probably the pitching coaches. If they do that, get in some good young arms - not old antique relics, or injury prone limp noodles - then the Yanks go all the way next year. But until that happens the Bronx Bombers don't have a prayer.

You're right - A-Rod is just being used as the scapegoat for the Yankees' loss, just as he has been blamed for all of their problems this season. The real reason they lost is that the Tigers were simply a better team, but nobody wants to hear that.

Of course, I still think A-Rod needs to leave New York because his teammates are obviously against him (as in that SI article), which makes it tough to come to the park every day. Let him leave town and return to his former greatness, so that Yankee fans can wonder how they ever let him go.

The yankee's were outplayed. No excuses. The Tigers were the best team in baseball for a majority of the season and they PROVED why against the Yankees......

I totally agree with you. The Yankees were outplayed by the Tigers. My hats off to them. Baseball is a team sport and that being said the Yankees lost the series, not Alex. Unfortunately he sucks big time in the playoffs but that's a mental thing that in time might be rectified. Pitching wins championships. Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Jared Wright, Kyle Farnsworth, Corey Lidel and Ron Villone should be jettisoned. They were horrible.

Yes I dont think A-rod is to blame. The Yankees have always had a great team and just because they lose to Detroit - doesnt mean they can point the blame for the loss.

Not only that, but all yankee questions in general.

It is not anyone's "fault" the yankees lost.

As you stated, The Tigers simply outplayed the yankees.

No offense, but I'm tired of people asking questions about A-rod, Torre, and the Yankees in general.
But, to answer your question, I don't think it was all A-rod's fault. He didn't play very well but niether did any other Yankee!!!!!!!!

A-rod will get most of the attention because of his recent postseason failures, but he wasn't the only one who sucked. The pitching staff sucked worse.
