Conflict management is where there has been no consultation or a difference in opinion between the workers and management, the Military use this method often where no one usualy gets a say in the Management decision that has been made and implemented. It is also where management knows and ignores the feelings or requirements of his subordinates, ie mandatory overtime etc, or new working hours.
Conflict resolution is where opposing parties have come to an agreement over a disagreement whether by mutual or by independant means (courts or a 3rd party mediator) It does not mean that the issue(s) in conflict have been settled 100% to the satisfaction of both parties but a workable rewsolution has been found and agreed to by the parties involved.

Conflict Management is the process you pass through as you endeavour to resolve a conflict. There are so many avenues you can use to have a Conflict resolution. These may include mediation or applying effective Communication skills. A living example is "conflict Coaching", these are all "Conflict Management" practices that are aimed at achieving conflict Resolution.

conflict resolution is therefore the successful creation of a 'way forward' in difficult situations that doesn't leave resentment, anger, avoidance, distraction still bubbling away under the surface because they haven't been dealt with. on that basis full resolution of a conflict can take some time in particularly difficult situations but effective communication can help resolve..........

If I remember correctly, conflict management is trying to keep conflicts to a minimum while conflict resolution is when a current conflict is resolved.
