aim low, shoot low. this way when disappointment sets in, which in ALWAYS does, you'll be less inclined to jump out of a window in light of your enormous failure.

I dont particularly like the settle part but thats just me. "Settling" indicates taking something as it is even though it may not be what you want. I prefer "Aim for the Moon and if you miss you will be among the stars".
