Find a few friends who understand, love, accept you as you are. Then boogey!! ^^ You see..shyness in the right context is not something to be ashamed of. Just too much of it is bad for you. So if you go out with friends who really care for you, youll get over some of it and leave the rest as a part of your lovely personality that is fine as it is, without alterations.
Good luck

i used to be really shy too, a real wallflower. then when i went to college and started making more friends i came out of my shell. make friends in different social circles so that way you can talk to different people about different interests. also join clubs or groups to be around people with similar interests.. also, a job where you have to deal with talking to people can also help. I still have times when i am shy, but not nearly as often as I used to.

Learn to make it work for you. Eventually you will find a reason to step out from behind your wall. If you have to return go with it. Embrace who you are.
