If she's a little sentimental, you could complie a video or slide show of pictures throughout her life, so when she gets lonely away from home she can look at these and know how much she is loved.

Something for her new place, I would guess. A, good-quality piece of furniture. A big wool carpet. Depends what her style is. You know her way better than I. Top of the line vacuum cleaner. 400 thread count sheet set. Whatever it is, buy the best. So your gift will be around for a long time. A rule that I always follow is never buy something that someone may not like. For example, if you see a painting that you just love, the person to whom you give it may hate the danged thing. But they have to hang it to avoid hurting your feelings. So I buy gifts that can be put away, out of sight. Or can be regifted. Or donated. Just a thought.

It depends on if you want to put something under the tree or not.

I have daughters, and since they were 12-13 I've given them cash because the day after Christmas sales can yield twice as much stuff than getting it before Christmas. They love it. It took my soon many more years to come around but he's in the swing of it too!

Just a thought.

Easy put together a scrapbook of things you have done with her over the years....

Too much, get stuff for her new place!!
Stuff like the best detergent u found for clothes,
cleaning products, things like this, recipes u found
great.

When my daughter went off on her own for the first time
I bought her a crock pot and put all the ingredients for
her fravorite dish and gave her a gift card to buy the
meat that went into, she loved it and thought this was
the greatest.

well teens are all over the technology scene, does she have a computer, ipod, cell phone, digital camera, already? Or how about a gift certificate to her favorite clothing store or makeup store? Maybe she would like stuff for her place - a tv, dvd player, linen, or decoravtives. Maybe an IKEA giftcard would be best!

How about having a small party especially for her - as a going away gift. Send out invitations - gift cards or gift certificates only or something for an apartment.

If you want to buy her something personal which she'll wear and think of your kindness - how about either a gold, or if that's too expensive, a Sterling silver bracelet? I recently bought one for a young friend's 21st birthday and she was utterly delighted. Wears it all the time, apparently!

A special piece of jewelry that has been passed down in the family will give her something beautiful to wear plus something to hold dear when she leaves home
