Live in present time. The only moment you can do anything about is this one. Don't beat yourself up for something in the past. It can't be undone. Whatever it was, it wasn't the end of the world, right? (The world still seems to be here.) & it wasn't the end of your life (you're still here to ask the question!) So, give yourself a break! Relax. Whatever it was, it doesn't matter anymore, if it ever did. Just choose not to let it get to you anymore. If you find the thought creeping in just say "Stop it! It's over! Who cares?!"

If it is the lingering embarrassment , as memory, then it an issue that has not yet been 'emotionally' resolved.
Logic may not help much by itself. But logic can make the emotion or intuition to accept the inevitability of what has happened, thereby 'healing' the intensity of emotion during each review... So the purging takes time like dissolving it bit by bit.
That is why the old saying "time is the best healer" !

It's best not to try and purge away past experience, because A. you can't learn from them then, and B. this can create psychological problems for you in the future. The best way to deal with embarrassing scenarios, is to remember that you're not alone in this type of experience, everyone has them during their lives, and to learn to laugh at them eventually. If we try not to take ourselves too seriously, this can help in dealing with such things. Experiences are part of life - it's how we deal with them, and what we learn from them, be they good or bad experiences, that helps us to grow as human beings.

Learn to laugh at yourself. A great sense of humor will diffuse just about any embarrassing situation, as will the comfort in the fact that we've all done dumb things.
And truthfully? Most people are so concerned about themselves, that the could not really care less about something you've done - save for the initial 5 minutes after it happened.
It's definitely nothing to get stressed over.

I used to get embarrasssed a lot as a teenager. Sometimes I thought I was going to die of embarrassment.
Then I grew up and realized that no one in the world is perfect, and people don't judge me the way I thought they did, and everyone makes mistakes (including big, embarrassing mistakes), so I stopped getting embarrassed.
OK... I still embarras myself now and then, but it's no big deal. I honestly can't think of a time in which that feeling stayed with me for more than a few hours.

Move on! Chances are you are the only one who will remember anything in a couple of days... People are so preoccupied with themselves, they rarely focus on others for too long... Just live a normal life and learn from your mistakes :-)
I now laugh at some of the most embarrassing things that happened to me before :-)

Why not taking it as a lesson from life? We all make mistakes in life, even those who are not able to admit it. So why let the feeling follow you through time? It would be like you are embarrassed by your human nature every minute of your life. Don't be.

Embarrassment is the greatest type of blow to one's ego, because in this case, we ourselves blame ourselves. Hence difficult to forget.
One way to look back and laugh is to believe that we have moved on and improved - an ego booster which allows us to see the earlier hurt as one on a different ego rather than the same one that we have now.
Another method practised by a lot of people is for you to yourself recount in front of others what had happened and laugh along with them. Same result - you start feeling as though it was a different ego which was hurt in the past.

its all in the past. the best way is to make sure you dont make the same mistakes in the future. things that were embarrasing for you stick in your mind, but im sure whoever saw the mistakes have forgotten about them.
Just think about the future forget your worries it cant be changed now!
